Fees & Service Scope

Last Updated: 2026/05/30

Maintenance plan details, plan feature comparisons, and plan pricing may be listed elsewhere on MaintainWP. This page focuses on fees, request handling, included work, and work that is outside standard coverage.

Website Creation Fees

Website creation starts at $499. This includes creation of a single homepage for a new WordPress website and the first month of the MaintainWP Start-Up maintenance plan.

Additional pages are $249 per page. Additional-page fees apply to each extra page requested beyond the included homepage, unless otherwise agreed in writing before work begins.

Website creation is a one-time build service. After the included first month of Start-Up maintenance, the website remains a fully managed MaintainWP website and is subject to the then-current maintenance plan terms, renewal fees, and any selected plan changes.

What Website Creation Includes

  • A single homepage build using WordPress and a suitable theme or block-based layout.
  • Initial WordPress setup, including installation and configuration of required themes and plugins.
  • Initial security setup, including firewall configuration and reasonable hardening measures.
  • Initial CDN and DNS-related configuration when access is provided and the configuration is within MaintainWP-supported tools.
  • Initial backup configuration and uptime monitoring setup.
  • A reasonable amount of content cleanup, light rewriting, and placement of client-provided content into the website layout.
  • Basic launch preparation for a managed WordPress site that will continue under a MaintainWP maintenance plan.

Content, Branding, and Client Materials

Website creation includes reasonable assistance organizing and polishing content, but MaintainWP is not a dedicated copywriting, branding, photography, or logo design service.

Clients should provide the copy they want to use, photos, images, logos, brand colors, account access, and any other materials required to complete the website. If materials are incomplete, delayed, low quality, or unavailable, MaintainWP may use reasonable placeholders, request replacement materials, adjust the timeline, or limit the work to what can reasonably be completed with the materials provided.

Website Creation Exclusions

Unless separately quoted or agreed in writing, website creation does not include custom plugin development, custom application development, advanced ecommerce builds, membership portals, complex booking systems, custom API integrations, custom theme development, extensive copywriting, brand identity design, logo design, product photography, stock photo licensing, paid font licensing, third-party software subscriptions, or advertising campaign setup.

Third-party fees, premium plugin licenses, premium themes, domain registration fees, email hosting, advertising costs, and other outside costs are not included unless expressly stated in a written proposal, checkout page, or signed agreement.

Included First Month of Maintenance

The $499 website creation fee includes the first month of the Start-Up maintenance plan for the newly created website. This included month is intended to cover the initial managed launch period, routine monitoring, and standard Start-Up maintenance coverage.

After the first month, the client may continue on the Start-Up plan, upgrade to a different maintenance plan, or make another plan selection available at that time. Upgrades may be requested at any time after the included first month begins, subject to the pricing and terms available at the time of upgrade.

Support Inquiries & Monthly Service Hours

Support must be requested through designated channels to ensure receipt and timely response. To submit support requests, email support@maintainwp.com or open a ticket through the MaintainWP contact page.

Each inquiry is subject to a 30-minute minimum charge. Developer assistance and customization services are billed at an additional rate of $59 per half-hour per inquiry.

Response times for non-urgent requests may take up to 48 hours. Urgent or expedited requests may incur an additional expedite fee of $29 per half-hour.

Monthly Service-Hour Coverage

If your maintenance plan includes monthly service hours, those hours may be applied toward approved support, troubleshooting, fixes, minor development work, content updates, configuration work, and other eligible requests within the selected plan scope.

Monthly service hours are not a guarantee that every request will be included. MaintainWP may determine whether a request is covered by monthly service hours, separately billable, outside the selected plan, or unsupported. Unless otherwise stated in writing, unused monthly service time does not roll over, has no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for discounts, refunds, or unrelated services.

Request Categories

Inquiries should generally align with the following service areas:

  • UI troubleshooting, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript issues.
  • CSS styling adjustments.
  • Content updates.
  • WordPress consultation.
  • CSS, JavaScript, and image optimization.
  • Theme and plugin evaluations.
  • Plugin setup and configuration.

Requests Outside Monthly Development Hours

The following are examples of requests that are outside the scope of monthly development hours and may require a separate quote, separate approval, or a separate paid project:

  • Complete website redesigns.
  • Landing page creation.
  • Custom plugin development.
  • Custom theme development.
  • Search engine optimization/SEO services.

Additional Separately Billable Work

In addition to the examples above, the following work is generally separately billable unless included in a written proposal, checkout page, or other written agreement:

  • New page creation beyond the included homepage in a website creation project.
  • New website builds, rebuilds, redesigns, or major layout changes.
  • Custom application features, custom integrations, advanced troubleshooting, and complex third-party service configuration.
  • Large content migrations, ecommerce setup, membership systems, booking systems, learning management systems, directories, or similar complex functionality.
  • Work requiring third-party vendor coordination, premium tool purchases, paid licenses, or specialized services not included in the selected plan.

Minor Content Edits

Minor content edits generally include quick text corrections, image swaps, contact information changes, small formatting adjustments, replacing existing content, updating existing links, and similar routine changes that do not require new page design, custom development, or a broader content strategy.

Minor content edits do not include full page creation, landing page design, custom layouts, extensive rewriting, long-form copywriting, new feature development, or work that reasonably falls outside the selected maintenance plan.

Review and Approval

If you are uncertain whether a request is covered, submit it through the designated support channel. MaintainWP will review the request and either approve it as included work, apply it against available monthly service time, quote it as separately billable work, recommend a plan change, or decline it if it falls outside MaintainWP-supported services.

MaintainWP may request approval before beginning billable work. If a request is urgent, expedited, unusually broad, technically uncertain, or dependent on a third party, MaintainWP may delay work until scope, cost, access, and approval are confirmed.

Managed Website Relationship

Websites created by MaintainWP are intended to be managed by MaintainWP after launch. The website creation fee covers the initial build described on this page; ongoing maintenance, monitoring, support, updates, security management, backups, and other managed services continue through the selected maintenance plan.

If a client cancels or does not renew maintenance after the included first month, ongoing managed services may stop. MaintainWP may provide reasonable handoff assistance when requested, but post-cancellation support, migration, troubleshooting, or transfer work may be separately billable unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.
